Archive/PReS
Now you can use the familiar PReS scripting environment to
archive and retrieve documents:
- Take your existing PReS script for print applications
- Add a few simple commands to set up the Archive and nominate
index fields
- Generate the Archive and index files
- Import the document index into the system database
- Retrieve any page quickly and efficiently
- View pages by a number of different viewers depending
on application and archive format
The PReS Archive System consists of three modules:
Archive/PReS
Designed for the archiving of large numbers of essentially
similar documents, Archive/PReS files have small storage requirements
with fast storage and retrieval times. Closely resembles all
other APA versions of PReS.
An A4 page typically produces 3-4 K of archive data. The archive
file is produced at printer speeds. In the script you specify
the fields you wish to search on when retrieving the documents.
Up to 9 fields are available. The output produced by Archive/PReS
is two files, an image file and in index file to facilitate
efficient storage.
View/PReS
View/PReS adds multiple index files to a data base, and provides
the search engine for retrieving the documents. More
information.
PReS/Viewer DLL
The PReS/Viewer DLL is called from View/PReS and displays
the document once it has been located. Optional printing of
the archived document is carried out by this DLL.
