GO/PReS
GO/PReS (Graphic Output PReS) is a powerful tool to produce
data-driven variable graphic images.
The graphic output can be in a variety of formats – BMP, TIF,
PDF, PCL and JPG. These formats can be used in any combination,
and can be changed on a page-by-page basis. In addition, each
page can be sent to a specific printer or file location, so
that multiple files and/or printers can be accessed in the
one job. i.e. both the image format and destination of the
output can be determined by the data.

GO/PReS enables output to be created on an image-per-page
basis (eg bitmaps), as well as multi-page images (eg multi-page
TIF files). Images can be wrapped in PCL and spooled, or sent
directly to the printer. No external font or graphic resources
are required on the printer to produce this output, making
GO/PReS ideally suited to the production of Double-Byte PCL
jobs and small Double-Byte runs.
GO/PReS also provides the ability to dramatically reduce the
size of print files – up to 90% - by allowing different compression
settings and the production of monochrome bitmaps. Therefore,
GO/PReS is able to generate small graphic files quickly and
easily.
Typical GO/PReS Solutions:
- Any situation requiring flexible image format and multiple
output destinations
- Double-Byte PCL jobs and small Double-Byte runs
- Distributed printing
- Fax Applications – For example, BMPs or TIFs could be
sent to a facsimile directory that is being monitored by
a separate facsimile application. Once the file(s) are detected,
this application could trigger access to a reference file
containing contact details and facsimile numbers and initiate
the fax process
- Archive - GO/PReS produces dot-for-dot graphic output
so is suitable for archiving and call centre solutions
