XML Output DLL

The XML Output DLL enables you to create, navigate and modify XML script simply and quickly. The XML file can be validated against a DTD or schema and ensures that valid XML is produced.

(Creating a document involves adding tagged elements, attributes and values. Navigation is a process of searching the document for the required information. Modifying a document consists of removing elements and changing data and attributes).

To output XML from PReS, a USERHOOK instruction utilizes DOM (Document Object Model) commands to output XML elements and attributes directly from a PReS job.
The DLL dynamically checks entries for special characters and replaces them "on the fly", whilst validating and checking the correct form of the XML output.

The DLL also has a number of function codes, each indicating the activity group. Each group has several function tags to specify a particular component of the XML structure. The DOM architecture treats the XML file as a tree view object, starting from the root node and providing the ability to traverse through the nodes to add elements, data, and attributes.

As such, the XML Output DLL enables production of XML documents using UTF- 8 encoding.
